Mati City

Land Area and Political Subdivision

Mati City is 165.6 kms away from the City of Davao with a total land area of 79,109 has and with a total of 26 barangays.

Location

It is situated at the center of the province of Davao Oriental in the southeastern section of Mindanao and serves as the capital of the province.

Geography and Climate

It has an even distribution of of swamps, plateaus and extensive low land along shorelines facing Philippines Sea. No lengthy dry season but very pronounced maximum rainfall. It is known to many as a large producer of coconut and it is also endowed with various metallic and non-metallic mineral resources such as, cobalt, nickel, copper gold, iron silica, marble, sand, gravel and limestone.
