The survey projects are part of the continuing application of the Local Governance and Rural Empowerment Project (LGREP) funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The LGREP aims to improve and enhance the capacities of the member-Local Government Units of the DIDP in delivering potable water supply services to its communities.
These survey projects are conducted by the LGREP-trained counterpart personnel from the Engineering and Planning Offices of the requesting LGUs with the supervision of the Groundwater Development (GW) Focal Person from the Davao Integrated Development Program – Project Management Office.
The continuing process of the technical capacity building for the LGU counterpart personnel in the survey projects consists of the study area assessment, field lay-out of the equipments, the operation of the resistivity meter, and the preparation of the initial draft reports. This process aims to further improve their technical capacities in the use of modern equipments and analysis of survey data for evaluating sub-surface strata, conduct tests for water quality basic parameters of existing water resources, and the assessment of other local groundwater systems conditions.
