Land Area and Political Subdivision
Tagum City has a total land area of 19,200 has. It is one of the identified Provincial Agri-Industrial Centers (PAICs) of Region XI. It was created a component city of Province of Davao del Norte by virtue of RA 8472 on March 7, 1998. Before that it was the capital town of then Davao Province.
Tagum City on the North by the Municipalities of Asuncion and New Corella: on the South by the Davao Gulf: on the East by the Municipalities of Maco and Mawab: and, on the West by the Municipality of Carmen. Being located in the central part of Davao del Norte with two national highways connecting to different provinces and cities as well as its relative proximity to Davao City have made Tagum City the Province's center for trade and commerce.
Geography and Climate
Its topography is generally flat with rolling portions in the northern side and coastal roads in the southern portion. Rainfall is more or less evenly distributed throughout the year. Rainy season usually occurs from October to February, while the dry season occurs from March to June.
